About “La Bourse”
La Bourse is a short story by the French novelist Honoré de Balzac. It was first published in 1832 by Mame-Delaunay as part of La Comédie humaine's Scènes de la vie privée. It was later republished in 1835 by Béchet and in 1839 by Charpentier, where it was included in Scènes de la vie parisienne. In 1842, the story was returned to Scènes de la vie privée in the fourth and final edition of La Comédie humaine, published by Furne.
