As the New Republic struggles for survival, a remnant of the shattered Empire targets three precious children, including Han and Leia's Jedi twins. Luke Skywalker lies in a life-threatening state at the Jedi academy, but on the spirit plane, he fights for survival and reaches out to the Jedi twins. Meanwhile, Leia is on a mission to protect Anakin, her and Han's baby, hidden on the planet Anoth. Luke's former student, Kyp Durron, has stolen the Sun Crusher and is on a destructive mission, believing he is fighting for a just cause. Han must convince Kyp to abandon his mission and regain his honor. To do so, Kyp must lead the Sun Crusher in a suicide attack against a Death Star prototype, a battle Han fears they may not win—even with Luke's help.
