Is it possible to be haunted by someone who isn't even dead? Suze faces a difficult choice when ghostly Jesse captures her heart, but real-life Paul Slater offers her something different—warmth and a future. Paul, a mediator, has the power to send Jesse to the Great Beyond. He promises not to harm Jesse if Suze agrees to go out with him. Fearing she might lose Jesse forever, Suze agrees. However, even if Jesse confesses his feelings, Suze wonders what kind of life she could have with someone who is already dead. The story explores her emotional struggle between the living and the ghostly.
