About “The trade of queens”

After a nuclear explosion in Washington, D.C. kills the president, a dissident faction of the Clan from an alternate universe allies with a U.S. government faction in a political takeover. Queen Miriam, who is pregnant, and her Clan find no safe place in their world. They consider escape to New Britain, a third alternate world that has recently experienced a revolution and its own nuclear incident. The story follows their search for safety in a fractured and dangerous reality. The novel was published in 2010 by Charles Stross.
