Star Wars: The New Jedi Order is a series of 19 science fiction novels published from 1999 to 2003, set in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. The series follows the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy 21–25 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. It focuses on the New Jedi Order, a reformed Jedi organization that was restored after the Great Jedi Purge and the fall of the Galactic Empire. The Jedi, who had been reduced to just a few individuals, were gradually rebuilt under the leadership of Luke Skywalker. Additional stories, including e-book novellas and comic books, expanded the series, bringing the total number of NJO-related stories to 26.
