About “Lady Fortescue Steps Out”
Elderly widow Lady Fortescue and her friends devise a plan to escape genteel poverty by relieving rich relatives of expensive trinkets, using the proceeds to convert her townhouse into a hotel for the ton. Her nephew, the Duke of Rowcester, disapproves of the scheme until he meets Miss Harriet James, the hotel chef, whose past connection to him stirs unexpected emotions.
