About “Boodle”

Boodle is a collection of short stories by Leslie Charteris, first published in the United Kingdom in August 1934 by Hodder and Stoughton. It is the thirteenth book in the Simon Templar series, also known as "The Saint," and the second short story collection featuring the character. The title comes from the British slang term "boodle," which refers to bribery, stolen goods, or loot. When the book was first published in the United States by The Crime Club, the title was changed to The Saint Intervenes due to the unfamiliarity of the word "boodle." This new title was later used for subsequent UK editions. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
