About “The pool of fire”
The Tripods series, written by John Christopher, is a set of young adult science fiction novels set on an Earth controlled by alien Tripods. The series includes three main books: The White Mountains (1967), The City of Gold and Lead (1967), and The Pool of Fire (1968). A prequel, When the Tripods Came (1988), was added 20 years after the original trilogy. The stories follow human resistance against the alien rulers. The series was originally published as three novels, with the prequel released later to expand the narrative.
