Elena Gilbert searches for her love, Stefan Salvatore, who has been captured by demonic spirits in Fell's Church. While her friends Bonnie and Meredith uncover the town's dark secrets, Elena turns to Stefan's brother, Damon Salvatore, a dangerous vampire who also desires her. With her friend Matt, she travels to the slums of the Dark Dimension, a place where vampires and demons rule and humans are enslaved. As she works to free Stefan, tension between her and Damon increases, forcing her to confront her true feelings.
