About “Eternity”

Earth is suffering from the effects of nuclear destruction. Garry Lanier, the leader of the first expedition to Thistledown, an asteroid starship, is old, bitter, and tired of life. He unexpectedly reunites with General Pavel Mirsky, a man who should not exist because Mirsky vanished with the Way, a limitless corridor that cuts through space and other universes. This is the premise of a 1988 novel by Greg Bear.
