Tom Swift Jr. uses his diving seacopter, the Ocean Arrow, to search for a lost rocket containing evidence of extraterrestrial life, which was diverted from its intended destination and is believed to have landed underwater off the coast of South America. Accompanied by his friends and two oceanographers, he faces challenges from a group of unethical scientists operating an underwater craft, as well as natural dangers such as a crushing underwater landslide. The expedition involves efforts to locate the rocket while overcoming both human adversaries and extreme sub-ocean hazards.
