About “History of Liao”
The History of Liao, or Liao Shi, is an official Chinese historical work compiled during the Yuan dynasty, under the direction of the historian Toqto'a, and completed in 1344. It draws on primary sources from the Khitan people and earlier official Chinese records. The text covers the history, tribal life, and traditions of the Khitan, as well as the official histories of the Liao dynasty and its successor, the Western Liao dynasty.
