About “Old Book of Tang”
The Old Book of Tang, also known as the Book of Tang, is a historical work that covers the Tang dynasty and consists of 200 chapters. It is part of the Twenty-Four Histories, a collection of official Chinese historical texts. The work was first compiled during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Later, it was replaced by the New Book of Tang, which was written during the Song dynasty. Despite being superseded, the Old Book of Tang eventually regained recognition and acceptance.
