About “Manatee Blues”
Each of these stories, told in the voice of one of the 11-year-old volunteers at the Wild at Heart Animal Clinic, offers a first-hand account of animal emergencies and rescues. Dr. Mac takes Brenna, Maggie, and Zoe to Florida to visit a manatee rescue center, where Brenna goes on a rescue mission and helps nurse an injured manatee back to health. She also learns the center is in desperate need of money and will do anything to keep it from closing and to save the manatees.
