Gora is a planet with no water, no air, and no native life. It serves as a stopover for ships traveling between wormholes in the Galactic Commons. The Five-Hop One-Stop is a spaceport on Gora run by an alien and her child, offering fuel, permits, and supplies to travelers. A technological failure stops all traffic, trapping three strangers at the station. They include an exiled artist, a cargo runner, and a mysterious helper. Forced to wait, the three must face their pasts, their futures, and their growing connection to one another. The story explores their interactions and personal journeys.
