Once upon a time, a fairy godmother named Desiderata, known for her good heart and wisdom but poor planning, died, leaving Princess Emberella in the care of a less competent godmother. Magrat Garlick, Granny Weatherwax, and Nanny Ogg, three witches, set out on broomsticks to Genua to protect the servant girl from marrying the Prince. Along the way, they face challenges such as vampires, werewolves, and a falling house. Upon arriving in Genua, they must outwit a power-hungry rival godmother determined to create a "happy ending" at any cost, even if it means destroying a kingdom. This is a Discworld novel by Terry Pratchett.
