Princess Mary Tudor, only surviving daughter of King Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, expects to inherit the crown until Anne Boleyn appears. When Henry divorces Catherine to marry the pregnant Anne, Mary is declared illegitimate in favor of Anne's daughter Elizabeth, stripped of her title and possessions, and made a servant to her half-sister, growing bitter toward her father and, especially, Anne.
