In the unhealthy city of Sledwaya, Echo, a gifted rat, falls into great trouble after the death of his mother. He is forced to make a dangerous contract with the demon master Succubius Eißpin, who gains the right to kill and cook Echo on the next full moon. In return, Eißpin must feed Echo at the highest culinary level until then. However, Eißpin does not expect Echo's strong will to survive or his creativity. Echo finds help from his new friends, the Thinking Eggs, the Golden Squirrel, Fjodor F. Fjodor, the One-Eyed Shoe, the Cooked Ghost, and especially Inazea Anazazi, the last demon of Sledwaya.
