About “The Crystal Stopper”

Arsène Lupin’s attempted robbery of the deputy Daubrecq goes wrong, resulting in a murdered man and two of his accomplices being arrested by the police. Lupin becomes involved in a complex conspiracy as he tries to secure the release of his men. This story, set before the events of the previous novel 813, presents Lupin in a different light, showing him struggling with his personal morals while trying to protect those close to him. The story was first published as a serial in Le Journal in 1912 and later released as a novel in French and in an English translation by Alexander Teixeira de Mattos in 1913.
