Arngrímur Jónsson

Arngrímur Jónsson the Learned was an Icelandic scholar and Christian apologist. He studied in Copenhagen, completing his studies in 1589 and subsequently serving as rector of the Latin school at the episcopal seat of Hólar in Iceland. His father, Jón Jónsson, died in 1591. Arngrímur lived until 1648.
