Beatus Saint, Presbyter of Liebana

Beatus of Liébana was a monk and theologian who authored the Commentary on the Apocalypse, a compilation of earlier interpretations of the Book of Revelation. His work had local influence in the Iberian Peninsula and is notable for the 27 surviving illustrated manuscripts that represent significant examples of Mozarabic art. Beatus is credited with the original designs for the illustrations, though they have not survived. He is recognized as a Spanish saint and theologian.
