About “Commentarius In Apocalipsin”
The Commentary on the Apocalypse is a Latin commentary on the Book of Revelation written around 776 by Beatus of Liébana, a Spanish monk and theologian. The surviving texts vary slightly, but the work is most known for its elaborate illustrations found in a group of manuscripts produced mainly on the Iberian Peninsula over the next five centuries. There are 29 illustrated manuscripts from the 9th to the 13th centuries, along with other unillustrated and later copies.
