Bharati Krishna Tirtha (1884-1960), born Venkataraman Sastri, was an Indian religious leader who served as the Shankaracharya and supreme pontiff of the Govardhana Math in Puri, Odisha, from 1925 to 1960. He is best known as the author of the book Vedic Mathematics and is credited as the 'Father of Vedic Mathematics.' He was also the first Shankaracharya in history to travel to the West.
