About “Vedic mathematics”
Vedic Mathematics is a 1965 book written by Indian scholar Bharati Krishna Tirtha. It presents a collection of mathematical techniques, which the author claimed were derived from the Vedas. However, these claims of Vedic origin are not supported by evidence. The book was published posthumously by editor V. S. Agrawala, who acknowledged in the foreword that the Vedic connection was unfounded. The title and content of the book have been criticized for misleading readers about its historical and mathematical accuracy. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
