Diana Gabaldon is an American author of Mexican-American and English descent, born in 1952 and raised in Arizona. She holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and turned to fiction writing to produce the massively popular Outlander series, an epic blend of historical fiction, romance, and time travel set largely in 18th-century Scotland. The series has sold tens of millions of copies worldwide and was adapted into a long-running television series.
