F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940), full name Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, was an American writer of novels and short stories whose work evokes the Jazz Age, a term he coined himself. Considered a member of the "Lost Generation," he completed four novels-This Side of Paradise, The Beautiful and Damned, Tender Is the Night, and The Great Gatsby-with a fifth, The Love of the Last Tycoon, published posthumously unfinished.
