Abul-Qâsem Ferdowsi Tusi, also known as Firdawsi or Ferdowsi, lived from 940 to 1020 and was a Persian poet, author of the Shahnameh ("Book of Kings"), one of the world's longest epic poems created by a single poet and the greatest epic of Persian-speaking countries. He is celebrated as one of the most influential figures of Persian literature.
