Flavius Josephus (c. 37 - c. 100) was a first-century Romano-Jewish historian, hagiographer, and military leader of priestly and royal ancestry. He recorded first-century Jewish history, including the First Jewish-Roman War, which resulted in the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD.
