Frank Harris was an Irish-American editor, novelist, short story writer, journalist, and publisher. He was born James Thomas Harris in Galway, Ireland, and changed his first name to Frank at the age of eighteen. His life included experiences such as building the Brooklyn Bridge, surviving the Chicago fire, smuggling cattle in Texas, and studying law in Kansas. He became associated with notable literary figures including George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, and D. H. Lawrence.
