G. Harry Stine

George Harry Stine was raised in Colorado Springs and earned a degree in physics from Colorado College in the same city. After graduation, he worked at White Sands Proving Grounds, initially as a civilian scientist and later, from 1955 to 1957, as head of the Range Operations Division at the U.S. Naval Ordnance Missile Test Facility. He co-founded Model Missiles Inc., the first company to manufacture model rockets, and established the National Association of Rocketry, serving as its president until the late 1960s. Stine also wrote several books on rockets and authored science fiction under the pseudonym Lee Correy. He was an American writer and engineer.
