Where to start with Garth Nix

Begin with Sabriel, the first book in the Old Kingdom series, published in 1995. It introduces the world of the Old Kingdom, the Abhorsen line, and the balance between life and death. Proceed through the series in publication order, which is also the narrative sequence, to follow the story of Sabriel’s son, Alec, as he navigates the challenges of the Free Kingdoms and the Wall. After completing the Old Kingdom series, move to The Keys to the Kingdom, starting with Mister Monday, the first book in that series, published in 2004. Continue in publication order through the seven books to follow the journey of Arthur Penhaligon as he seeks to claim the seven keys to the Kingdom. The Seventh Tower series, beginning with The Fall, is a separate sequence and may be read independently. Lady Friday, a standalone novel in the Keys to the Kingdom series, is set between the first and second trilogies and can be read in publication order after Mister Monday.
