Hermas

Hermas was a freedman and Christian born in Aquileia who lived in Ancient Rome. He was the brother of Pius, Bishop of Rome about the middle of the 2nd century, and his father was an Italian named Rufinus, also from Aquileia. He is identified as Hermas of Dalmatia in Romans 16:14 and is associated with the work The Shepherd of Hermas, which was sometimes considered part of the canonical Scriptures in the early Church.
