She was a German Benedictine abbess, polymath, and mystic. Hildegard is known as the Sibyl of the Rhine. She lived during the 12th century and is recognized for her contributions in multiple fields. Her work and writings have been acknowledged by the Church, leading to her designation as a Doctor of the Church.
