Immanuel Kant was a German philosopher born in 1724 in the Prussian city of Königsberg. He is recognized as one of the last influential philosophers of modern Europe, following the tradition of Enlightenment thinkers such as John Locke, George Berkeley, and David Hume. Kant introduced a new perspective in philosophy that had lasting impacts on the field. He authored significant works on epistemology, as well as topics related to religion, law, and history. His most famous work, Critique of Pure Reason, examines the limits and structure of reason, challenging traditional metaphysics and epistemology. His later works, Critique of Practical Reason and Critique of Judgment, focus on ethics and aesthetics, respectively. Kant died in 1804.
