Julian Gough

Julian Gough (born 1966) is an Irish musician, novelist, and poet. Initially known as the singer and lyricist for the Galway band Toasted Heretic, he went on to work as a satirist, novelist, and writer of children's books; his short story "The Orphan and the Mob" won the 2007 BBC National Short Story Award, and he wrote the End Poem that appears at the end of Minecraft. Since 2022 he has written a blog, The Egg and the Rock, about his research extending Lee Smolin's theory of cosmological natural selection.
