Lewis Madison Terman (1877–1956) was an American psychologist and academic, noted as a pioneer in educational psychology in the early 20th century at the Stanford School of Education. He is best known for his revision of the Stanford–Binet Intelligence Scales and for initiating the Genetic Studies of Genius, a longitudinal study of children with high IQs; he was also a prominent proponent of eugenics. He served as president of the American Psychological Association, and is credited with The Gifted Child Grows Up in the Genetic Studies of Genius series.
