Marcel Schwob was a French symbolist writer who lived from 1867 to 1905. He is recognized for his short stories and his influence on writers such as Jorge Luis Borges, Alfonso Reyes, Roberto Bolaño and Patricio Pron. Schwob also wrote journalistic articles, essays, biographies, literary reviews, translations and plays. He was well known and respected during his lifetime and had friendships with many intellectuals and artists of his time.
