Mkhitar Heratsi

Mkhitar Heratsi (c. 1120 – c. 1200) was a 12th-century Armenian physician, born in Khoy, who was well versed in the Persian, Greek and Arabic languages. Often considered the father of Armenian medicine, he was the author of the Relief of Fevers, an encyclopedic work in which he discussed subjects including surgery, diet and psychotherapy.
