About “Relief of Fevers”
Relief of Fevers is an encyclopedic medical text written by the medieval Armenian physician Mkhitar Heratsi in 1184. The book addresses diseases that cause fever, including malaria, yellow fever, and typhoid, which were common in the lowlands of Cilicia. The work was written in the vernacular rather than Classical Armenian, indicating the author's intent to make medical knowledge accessible to the general population.
