Norton Juster (1929-2021) was an American architect and planner, and professor emeritus of design at Hampshire College. He wrote several acclaimed children's books, including The Dot and the Line, which became an Academy Award-winning animated film. He collaborated with Sheldon Harnick on the libretto for an opera based on The Phantom Tollbooth, with a musical adaptation scored by Arnold Black premiering in 1995.
