Prodicus of Ceos was a Greek philosopher and part of the first generation of Sophists. He came to Athens as an ambassador from Ceos and became known as a speaker and teacher, giving prominence to linguistics and ethics in his teaching. He is remembered for a fable in which Heracles must choose between Virtue and Vice.
