Pseudo-Philo is the name given to the unknown author of the Liber Antiquitatum Biblicarum, also known as the Biblical Antiquities. The text was likely originally written in Hebrew but survives today only in Latin, preserved in 18 complete and three fragmentary manuscripts dating from the eleventh to fifteenth centuries. The work is distinct from the writings of Philo of Alexandria, and its pseudonymous nature is widely recognized by scholars.
