Theodore Herman Albert Dreiser (August 27, 1871 – December 28, 1945) was an American novelist and journalist associated with the naturalist school. His work often centered on protagonists who achieved their goals without adherence to a strong moral code. Dreiser is best known for his novels Sister Carrie (1900) and An American Tragedy (1925).
