"Swords of Mars" is the eighth book in Edgar Rice Burroughs' Martian series. It was originally published in six issues of the "Blue Book" magazine in 1934-1935. The story follows John Carter as he seeks to end the Assassins Guild on Barsoom. He travels to one of Barsoom's moons and creates a secret race of super assassins to fight the guild. Carter attempts to overthrow Ur Jan, the guild's leader, in the city of Zedong. The novel features many fantastic characters and settings, presented as a thrilling spy story set in a science fiction universe.
