"11/22/63" is a novel by Stephen King that follows a time traveler attempting to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, which took place on November 22, 1963. It is King's 60th published book, 49th novel, and 42nd under his own name. The novel was announced on King's official website on March 2, 2011, and excerpts were released online and in Entertainment Weekly before its publication on November 8, 2011. It became a number-one bestseller and remained on The New York Times Best Seller list for 16 weeks. The book won the 2011 Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Best Mystery/Thriller and the 2012 International Thriller Writers Award for Best Novel. It was also nominated for the 2012 British Fantasy Award and the 2012 Locus Award.
