About “A Daughter of the Snows”

A Daughter of the Snows (1902) is Jack London's first novel. Set in the Yukon, it follows Frona Welse, a Stanford graduate and physical Valkyrie. She leaves her home after clashing with her wealthy father's community and befriending the town's prostitute. Frona is torn between two suitors: Gregory St Vincent, a local man who proves to be cowardly and treacherous, and Vance Corliss, a Yale-trained mining engineer. The novel explores themes of independence, morality, and survival in the harsh wilderness. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
