About “A View from the Bridge”

In A View from the Bridge, Arthur Miller examines how a man's self-deception and the force of fate collide. Eddie Carbone is a Brooklyn longshoreman who leads a steady, uneventful life. He welcomes his wife's relatives, two Italian immigrants, but fails to recognize his deep feelings for his niece, Catherine. His lack of awareness about her, about life, and about himself leads to tragic outcomes. The play was written by Arthur Miller.
