About “Ainulindalë”
The Ainulindalë is the creation story in J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium, published as the first part of The Silmarillion in 1977. It describes how the Ainur, a group of angelic beings, create the universe through music. This music foretells the creation of Eä, the physical world that includes Middle-Earth. Eru Ilúvatar, the creator, introduces the theme of Elves and Men, who are not part of the Ainur's original plan. He gives the universe physical form. Some Ainur enter the world to prepare for the arrival of Elves and Men, becoming the Valar and Maiar. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
