About “Aminta”
Aminta is a pastoral play written by Torquato Tasso in 1573. It was performed during a garden party at the court of Ferrara. The actors and audience were all noble individuals associated with the court. The play included subtle references to courtly life, contrasting it with the idyllic portrayal of shepherd life.
