Reacher, traveling on a Greyhound bus with no particular destination, steps off to help an elderly man and ends up entangled in a brutal turf war between rival Ukrainian and Albanian gangs after the man and his wife rack up debt to dangerous people. Teaming with a waitress who knows more than she lets on, Reacher works to outmaneuver loan sharks, thugs, and assassins.
